Advice for the aspiring model

Don't part with money to the Scammers

Make Me a Model

The first question we are always asked is why we set up make me a model?

The answer is simple we are in the industry, we have no financial benefit from models or agencies and it was about time the scammers were sent ion their way.

For years now we have been hearing horror stories of girls and guys paying many thousands of pounds to 'Rip Off' merchants who play on your desire to succeed as a model. No matter how often these stories about unscrupulous companies taking money from the unsuspecting public appear, people carry on paying. Quite often maxing out a credit card because they believe the hype of the smooth salesman.

First truth is, any genuine model agency that believes you have true potential will never ask you for money up front. Your modelling will pay them back fully in the course of time. Obviously when an agency tells you that you are beautiful and will get you work easily, it's very flattering and naturally good to hear. This is then followed with the fee to produce a professional portfolio, a fee to add you to the model directory.

Next truth is people want it so badly they ignore the obvious scam that it is. If an agency make their money from people paying to join and then for a dodgy portfolio and then that extra £90 or so to have your own webpage on the model directory, why would they need to go out and find work for the same models?

Make Me a Model

Most of this is now actually illegal, but it doesn't stop unsuspecting young models parting with barrow loads of cash to the unscrupulous.

You will see if you Google how to become a model lots of adverts at the top offering to help you get into an agency. They do charge portfolio, training, webpage and much more and you haven't even seen a genuine model agency.

We have put together some solid advice for anyone wishing to become a model, and if you follow our advice even if you don't rank to be one of the lucky 0.5% you will still be able to model on a part time basis and have fun while earning some pocket money.
